Al Hancock

Al Hancock was born in 1959 in Stephenville, Newfoundland. He moved to Northern Alberta at the age of 18 looking for opportunities in the oil sands. He became a Millwright by trade and has worked for the same company for the last 21 years.

A life-long athlete, Al set a goal to train and compete in bodybuilding. Within 10 years Al was a provincial champion and went on to compete nationally and he even represented Canada in international bodybuilding competitions.

Al began rock, ice, alpine and expedition climbing 8 years ago. Already Al has climbed four of the Seven Summits including…

  • Mount Denali (McKinley) in Alaska - 2003
  • Mount Elbrus in Russia - 2005
  • Mount Aconcaqua in Argentina - 2006
  • Mount Everest Nepal/Tibet - 2007

In total, Al has completed over 20 difficult, expedition-style summits, many with substantial vertical ice and rock sections.

 

Tim Warren

Tim WarrenTim is a chiropractor from Rhode Island and long time climbing partner of Al Hancock. With over 15 years of climbing and expedition experience, Tim has completed 3 of the Seven Summits.
